You can share the cost of a coffee and help beat loneliness
The average British person will drink 676 cups of coffee per year, with three of those drinks per week being bought from a café or coffee shop. With lockdown and an increase in working from home, many of our morning commute coffee rituals have changed or stopped altogether, meaning some serious hot drink savings! Around £300 worth of savings.
So why not share one of those coffees with The Nightingale this year? For just one take-away coffee per month, you can help us provide a cancer patient or their family with counselling or a friendly chat to support them through their difficult cancer journey and deal with the mental health effects made worse by the Covid pandemic.
Those currently undergoing cancer treatment are high risk and extremely vulnerable to Covid-19. Over two years since the first lockdown, many have had little to no help or support to alleviate their loneliness. With over 300 clients we have seen that Covid isolation has had a lasting effect on mental health. Therefore we have regular telephone catch ups with each and every client. Whether it’s a counselling session or a quick coffee break chat, they know, that no matter what, we’re always there for them, on the other end of the phone. Sharing the cost of a coffee with The Nightingale will help us continue to support those most vulnerable and at risk.
If you chose to donate £5 a month, we’ll send you a Nightingale mug to enjoy your coffee savings at home, or our travel bamboo cup so you can top up and drink on-the-go. Over the year, your donation will connect us with 60 people and reduce their loneliness if they’re shielding or isolating.
We understand that this is a difficult time for everyone, no matter if you share a short, tall, grande or venti with us, all sizes make a huge and drastic difference to the lives of those affected by cancer.
