Neon Night Hike 2020

It is with deep regret that due to the Government’s advice on Covid 19 and social distancing this event has been postponed. A new date will be announced in due course.

7.30pm start (arrival from 6.30pm for new registrations. 6.45pm arrival for pre-registrations.  Welcome reception & warm up for all)
10km or 15km walk – you decide on the night!

Starting and Finishing at Enfield Civic Centre in Enfield Town, you can choose to walk either 10km or 15km route around our beautiful Borough of Enfield.

This year we invite you to dig out and dare to wear your best and brightest Neon outfits (optional) to make some ‘noise’ and show your support for The Nightingale!  You can wear any neon clothing, footwear, face paints…..whatever you wish!

You can choose to walk individually, in a group or team – why not get a group together at school/work/local community group and wear matching outfits!?

Walkers must be aged 12 and over on Friday 5th June. Anyone aged 12 – 17 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.

Friendly dogs (on leads) are also welcome!

Why join us?
Join us at the Neon Night Hike to do something positive and show your support for a local charity that supports local people affected by cancer – whilst having fun and exercising!

Although we do not have a minimum sponsorship amount for the Night Hike, as a non-government funded local charity, we ask that you try and raise as much as possible per person.

If you would like to raise sponsorship, you can set up a fundraising page on Just Giving, connected to our Neon Night Hike 2020 event. Simply click on ‘Start fundraising’ on the Neon Night Hike Page.  Further details will also be in your information pack following your registration.

What your sponsorship could pay for:
£15 – could pay for a week of supervision for a counsellor
£35 – could pay for a one hour therapy session (massage/reflexology)
£45 – could pay for an hour of counselling emotional support
£345 – could pay for a teacher for a 6 week mindfulness course
£889 – could pay for a 7 week bereavement support group (staff and co-ordination costs)

What happens on the night?
Registration will be open from 6.30pm for new registrations.

For those who are already registered, we ask you to arrive from 6.45pm to gather and collect your ‘goody’ bag from our registration area including head boppers and snacks.

Before setting off, we will enjoy a welcome drink, music and warm-up to prepare for the walk ahead.

All our walkers will set off together at 7.30pm. You can walk the route at whatever pace is right for you!

Once you return you welcomed back by  The Nightingale Team to congratulate you on your wonderful achievement and receive your certificate!
