The Nightingale Cancer Support Centre are extremely grateful to the Acacia Aid WhatsApp group – set up to help neighbours during the pandemic. They held a plant sale on 24 May and set a target to raise £100 but in the event the target was more than doubled and the total amount donated was £219.75.
The organiser, Carole Stanley, said: ‘It is amazing how generous people can be in times of crisis. This pandemic has bought residents in our road closer together and we are doing what we can to help each other out. I always grow far more plants than I need so a charity plant sale for those who can’t get to the garden centres seemed like a good idea. I am delighted by the amount we raised for this excellent local cause.”
Thank you from all at The Nightingale.
