In memory of Sylvia Papa who sadly passed away on 31 July, 2026, aged 87 years young.

Sylvia was a loving mother, grandmother, friend and neighbour. She was simply wonderful
and treasured by everyone who knew and met her. She was such a strong lady, having
fought cancer twice, and she continued to show her strength through to the very end.

The Nightingale Cancer Support Centre held a very special place in Sylvia’s heart. She
used their services and was involved with so many activities over the years. The centre
provides amazing physical and mental support to people affected by cancer in the local
area. Therefore the family would be very grateful of any donations made to our chosen
charity. We know that Sylvia would appreciate this gesture of giving back.

Thank you so much,
Marcus, Jane and the whole family

Sylvia’s service will be held at 12.30pm on 26 August, 2026 at New Southgate Cemetery & Crematorium, Brunswick Park Road, London N11 1JJ.

All who knew and loved Sylvia are welcome to attend.

Love from Rose and family ❤️

Our deepest condolences. She was the most amazing neighbour and friend and will be missed so very, very much xxx

In loving memory of Sylvia.

From the bottom of our hearts, we miss you. Much love, Lorice & Alan

We were neighbours for 48 years and very fond of both Sylvia and her late husband, Pat. Dear brave lady, a true Londoner, full of life and so much loved by all her family and friends. She loved having the house full of life and laughter and was always ready to help others. We miss her so much.

Rest in peace now dear lady. All our love, Mary and Andrew and all the Nixon family xx

I will always remember Sylvia with her lovely smile and twinkling eyes – a really inspiring woman. May she rest in peace.

The generous contributions at Sylvia’s funeral are greatly appreciated by the family.

A wonderful, kind, generous and thoughtful neighbour and friend. We will miss Sylvia very much.

I’ve known Silvia for as long as I can remember , as she was a lifelong friend of my Mum. I have some very fond memories of the special times we spent together and of the many gardening and cooking tips she was so generous with giving.

The family of Sylvia have generously asked their loved ones to make donations to The Nightingale in her memory. This page is a tribute to her and the fact that she will always be remembered with so much love.
