We are very saddened to have to make the announcement that our Oakwood Charity Shop will close on Monday 30^th June.

This difficult decision is due to the significant rent increase. The increase has unfortunately made it unviable for us to continue running the shop. The Nightingale Charity Shops were set up in order to provide financial support to The Nightingale Centre, ensuring we can offer our services free of charge to those in our community with cancer. However, this has now become impossible with the dramatic increase in rent.

We want to say thank you to our Shop Managers who have been integral to the running of the shops and supporting The Nightingale’s mission. We want to emphasis that these closures are in no way a reflection on them. Our shop have only been around for so long because of their hard work.

Thank you to all of the volunteers who put in countless hours sorting donations, tagging stock, working the tills and creating a welcoming environment for all of our customers.

Thank you to our customers for choosing us as their charity shop and our donors for thinking of us for their donations, as well as everyone who has helped our shops over the years.

We are so proud to have been part of the Oakwood community and are truly gutted to have to have made this hard decision.
