Afternoon Tea & Songs That Won The War: VE Day 80th Celebration
For the 80th anniversary of VE Day, the end of the Second World War in Europe, we marks the important day in our modern history with a VE Day Celebration at the Conservative Clun in Enfield. Over 100 people joined us in this shared moment of celebration with afternoon tea, music and community spirit.
Southgate Opera serenaded the crowd with renditions of classic 1940s songs before inviting everyone to sing-a-long and dance-a-long to the likes of Glenn Miller and Vera Lynn.
80 years on, this is one of the final Second World War anniversaries for the country to mark alongside those who lived through it; The Greatest Generation.
