Lola was born selective mute and was subsequently diagnosed with autism and processing (sometimes people with autism feel like they are getting too much information and need a few moments to filter through it all).

To cope with her difficulties she took up tennis which she loves and it has helped her overcome so much. She is now an accomplished tennis player training at Gosling Tennis Centre. Lola like so many grandchildren was very close to her grandad who unfortunately fell ill with cancer. This made her feel very sad and so she had the idea of putting two things she loved together – her grandad and tennis –  all to raise money and awareness for The Nightingale Cancer Support Centre.

We are extremely proud to say that at The Hazlewood Sports and Social Club, as part of their charity day, Lola raised £250.00 in less than 36 hours! It’s a great privilege to be the recipient of Lola’s fundraising efforts and she goes to show that you can be a fundraiser at any age!

Be like Lola and turn your passion into funds to support those with cancer. Have a look at some ideas about how you can get involved in fundraising.
