Lola was born selective mute and was subsequently diagnosed with autism and processing (sometimes people with autism feel like they are getting too much information and need a few moments to filter through it all). To cope with her difficulties she took up tennis which she loves and it has helped her overcome so much. She is now an accomplished tennis player training at Gosling Tennis Centre. Lola like so many grandchildren was very close to her grandad who unfortunately fell ill with cancer. This made her feel very sad. So she had the idea of putting two things she loved together – her grandad and tennis – all to raise money and awareness for The Nightingale Cancer Support Centre.
At The Hazlewood Sports and Social Club as part of their charity day, she raised £250.00 in less than 36 hours.
